The leaking was discovered to be caused by ice build up in the drip pan which prevents the water from draining. Pull your refrigerator out from the wall and locate the defrost drain hose in the bottom back service panel. If the defrost drain is frozen the water will overflow the drain trough and drip down to the bottom of the compartment. The cooling coil for the refrigerator is in the wall in the back.

In some cases the leak could originate inside the compartment but leak outside the compartment onto the floor. Leaks and other liquids inside of the unit will tend to pool towards the bottom of the compartment such as under the vegetable crisper drawers for the refrigerator compartment of many models and may even freeze over into a sheet of ice. This hose should have a rubber check valve which helps regulate humidity and is known. The reason is unknown but could be due to a freeze up on the inside of the icemaker.

We just noticed water coming up through the vinyl flooring planks. I have a 5 door 26 8 ft french door whirlpool refrigerator. Rolled it out and noticed water pooling on the bottom right rear near the water inlet hoses with moisture on the copper tubing. Two weeks left on warranty.
