Go to device settings then to general settings and then doorbell chime type and make sure it is set on mechanical and ring my in home doorbell. The module allows for the ring doorbell to control the chime. That being said it does not mean there is enough power to operate both the chime kit and the video doorbell with a trickle charge. Connect the wires to the new button or doorbell switch just as they were connected to the old one.

If you don t find a broken wire remove the doorbell button by unscrewing it or prying it out of its hole with a putty knife. You should then check the ring smartphone app. If not properly installed it is unable to work. If the bell rings when you bypass the button replace the button.

If it chimes this means the chime kit is at least working and there is enough power to power the chime kit. Additionally please ensure the wiring used is not old fraying corroded or thin cat5 6.
